Bali photos....click here

So.... I am typing this at 4am  in the morning, as landed last night back from Magical Bali .... Seems jet lag has hit !

So many of you who have followed me since last month, are aware I was sent off there by “Head Office” to be on a mission. At the time have to confess, hoped for something just a little nearer, than 20 hours of travel, but I have to report it was more than worth it.

On some level, I understand the journey was just for me, on another, if you remember I was told to write about the energy in my next book.

Well it seemed the writing started on the very first night, exhausted after getting there, could not wait to get into a bed, but seems  it was not for sleep, after tossing and turning in the “wide awake club” got bored sat up put on the light, to see in the corner of the room, a beautiful spirit of a Balinese person, at first was quite shocked, then spoke to them to ask if they had come for my spiritual  journey , No was the answer,” I am the protector of your room  oh “ok I said, well thank you ! “

I then felt inclined to get up and start writing, and so it started..

As all the hotel complex is a nest of non overlooked villas, I heard early next morning someone outside, later when I opened the door, there on the decking were the most beautiful Frangipani  flowers ,curious I asked someone why, as it seemed these offerings of flowers are placed outside each room every morning, these offerings I was told, were for the protectors of each room !

Well there was no way I could of known that ! so as the days rolled by, I saw that they honour all on the Island with their offerings, ceremonies are a daily ritual of thanks.

Now . if I had just been told that, I might of thought it was their folk law, but I did witness with my own eyes, they are really there, to protect and keep harmony upon their island

Now it seems they have a religion of their own here, which borders on Hinduism and Buddhist  Both practise non aggression, respect to other, peace and harmony, so consequently the energy is very soft and gentle, sometimes in a hotel you feel all are polite to you, as you are a guest there, but even walking in paddy fields, in the village etc, all are the same, I was told, that it was difficult to employ anyone on a Supervisory level. As no-one liked to pull rank, tell anyone off ! as they feel we are all equal. So feel uncomfortable with a higher position, which is truly the Buddhist mentality.

On speaking to many, I was so greatly encouraged to hear that no –one wished to leave their Island, as quite unsure why,  I  asked, they all said the same, why would be want to leave ? our families are here, we live in a Tropical Paradise, totally surrounded by nature, the bird and animal life are revered, we have our faith, hardly any crime . to us this is harmony upon earth. Have to say felt a bit silly asking the question in the first place !!!

Also talking of animals, there is in Ubud the Monkey Forest, where you can walk and feed them all, they live in a most beautiful natural habitat, surrounded by  natural forest and waterfalls, walking through near the temple, I can across the most amazing tree, its roots were above the earth, nearly over 40 ft before the start of the growth , while looking a monk approached me, telling me this tree was over 2,000 years old, protector of the forest, they place offerings and pray next to it every day, felt very privileged, he chose me, to come to tell, it is called the spiritual tree.

Also there is an Elephant park, where some orphaned Elephants are bought down to be looked after, they are truly loved there, our driver was a great guy who rode the same elephant for over 8 years, he called her his second “Wife” she was just adorable, every time she stopped to eat, he apologised, saying the “Taxi was hungry !”

At 6 in the morning while in the taxi to go back to the Airport, rows of little children were walking in single file in the streets, looking like little Buddhists in their White robes,  holding on tightly to their offerings of flowers, to celebrate Buddha day, I felt how wonderful for these little ones, to grow up in a world secure in peace and harmony, as not just a religion, but as the way of being to their fellow man .

Having travelled quite extensively within this life, also to many third world countries, all seem to work very long hours, with very little pay, so always living hand to mouth, many wish to leave their countries to go where they can start a better way of life, have the pay they are entitled to , which is our birth rite, to progress and grow financially, this I can understand, when I have seen appalling living conditions for them and their families.

But here in Bali , they all wanted to stay put, did not strive like in the West for  more and more, felt they were truly blessed with what they have

So feel I came away with a sort of sadness from there, as feel that what they truly have, is still achievable on the earth, so why oh why can we also not live in the peace of this way, what on earth do they think, if they ever see the News outside their world, murder, drugs bombs etc, this is so against who they are, no wonder they want to stay put

In the nature complex of the hotel, I found a wonderful place for me to meditate, sitting on  a rock, hearing the water rush by, also wind chimes in the trees, I asked that I may absorb as much of the Bali energy that I could, so I can carry the energy and memory in my heart.....

If any of you from either Australia, New Zealand, or England, I am so not turning into a travel agent, but may I recommend 'The Chedi Club, Goa Gajah Ubud Bali  set  in the mountains , surrounded by nature, a great place to heal and just “to be “
