HERE COMES THE HISTORY BIT

The great Swiss l6th Century physician Paracelsus (1493-1541) (pictured to the left), was one of the first members of the medical profession to advocate the use of natural medicine. He coined the phrase ‘Spagyric’ from two Greek words meaning ‘to separate’ and ‘to reunite’ alluding to the specific preparation process of a Spagyric essence. During this process the constituents of the plant will be separated, transformed, purified and recombined in modern laboratories by methods inspired by medical alchemy.

It was Paracelcus who introduced the concept of global healing to western medicine - a notion that was already present in the ancient traditional ways of healing such as traditional Chinese, Tibetan and Ayurvedic medicines.
